<>Stop creating pain today.
There is no man whose life is totally free of pain and suffering. Isn’t it more about learning to live with them than trying to avoid them?
Most of the human pains are useless. They are created by you. yourself, so long as your life is ruled by a mind that is not subject to observation. The pain you create now is always a form of non-acceptance, of unconscious resistance to what exists.
At the thought level, resistance is a form of judging. On an emotional level, it’s a form of negativism. The intensity of the pain depends on the degree of resistance at the present moment, which in turn depends on the degree to which you identify with the mind. The mind is always trying to deny the Moment of Now and get rid of it. In other words, the more you identify with your mind, the more you will suffer. Or we may say so: the more able you are to respect and accept the present moment, the freer you will be from suffering and pain—and from the egocentric mind.
For what reason does the mind usually resist or deny the present moment? Because she can’t function and keep control out of time, which is past and future, so she perceives the Moment of Now, which evades temporality, as a threat.
<>Time and mind are, in fact, inseparable. Imagine the Earth without people, inhabited only by plants and animals. Would they still have a past and a future? Would it still make sense to talk about time? the questions,” “How much is the hour?” or “what day are we on?”—if there were anyone else to ask them—would be totally meaningless. The oak or eagle would be be bewildered by such a question. “What time?” they would ask. “Sure, it’s now. Time is the Moment now. What else is there?”. Yes, we need the mind, as well as the time to function in this world, but we get to a point where they take over our lives, and that’s when we start to function badly, the pain and the suffering appear.
The mind, in order to ensure that it retains control, permanently seeks to cover the present moment through the past and the future and thus, just as the vitality and infinite creative potential of the Being, which are inseparable from the Present Moment, become covered by time, your true being. nature is hidden from the mind. The heavier burden of time has accumulated in the human mind. All men suffer because of this burden, but continue to add a little more to it at every moment, whenever they ignore or deny this precious present or reduce it to a means for the attainment of a future goal, which exists only in their minds, never in reality. The accumulation of time in the collective and individual mind also includes a large amount of residual pain from the past.
If you no longer want to create your pain. yourself or others, if you no longer want to supplement the residues of past pains that still live within you, then do not create time or, at least, no more than is necessary to cope with the practical aspects of life. How to stop creating time? Realize that the present moment is all you will ever be able to have. Make the Moment Now the main target of your life. If before you dwelt in time and occasionally made short visits to the Present Moment, you live from now on to the present and visit from time to time the past and the future, when when you have to deal with the practical aspects of a situation. Always say “yes” to the present moment.
